Yellow Rose Ranch (YRR) located in Alta, Wyoming, is a planned residential community nestled in the foothills of the west side of the Teton mountain range. Alta is located in Teton County, Wyoming and is part of the Jackson, Wyoming statistical area. YRR sits below the Grand Targhee Ski Mountain. Grand Targhee is nearly opposite the Jackson Hole Ski Mountain which is located on the east side of the Teton Mountain Range, in Jackson Hole, WY. The two ski mountains are about one hour drive from each other.

 

Yellow Rose was established in 1981 and is comprised of 31 residential lots ranging in size from 3 to 8 acres. There are also 22 acres of open space in the center of the community with a recreation access easement into the BLM and national forest.

 

At the time of the 2000 census, the population of Alta, WY was 400 and has likely grown by about 10% since then. The population density was 3.1 people per square mile.
